State Representative Sheri Jesiel (R-Winthrop Harbor) has represented the 61st District in the Illinois House of Representatives since July of 2014. She is a lifelong resident of the Zion-Winthrop Harbor area, having attended Zion-Benton Township High School and raising her three children there. She is a former program director and staff member of Camp Zion and attended the Zion-Benton Leadership Academy in the fall of 2013. Today, Sheri is still an active member of Christ Community Church in Zion and enjoys being Nana to her six grandchildren.

A graduate of Carthage College, Sheri holds Bachelor Degree’s in Business Administration and Accounting.

In addition to being a legislator, Sheri is employed as a Business Manager and Accountant. She is one of the only Certified Public Accountants currently serving in the Illinois General Assembly. Sheri’s business experience in corporate headquarters, not-for-profits, and small business has given her a unique perspective on what is needed to solve the Illinois’ long standing financial problems.

Sheri believes that the only way to end Illinois’ fiscal crisis is by bringing in jobs that the hard working people of Illinois desperately need. Sheri has stated that her top priorities in Springfield are jobs, education, and reducing the size of Illinois government.
